This blog is an adjunct to the @newtown_nsw twitter feed, which is itself the major feed for the paper.li Newtown News.
It is a twitter feed primarily concerned with gathering news etc. from around Newtown and surrounding suburbs. So the main reason for following someone is that they tweet or publish this sort of material. Some Twitterers (if that's a word) are very obviously of this type. Others may be very much locals but their tweets are largely personal, so I have not followed them (nothing personal). I follow local businesses except when they are part of a chain and don't have a Newtown (Erskineville, Marrickville, Glebe...etc.) specific Twitter account. Some are from outside but I have felt that their tweets will be of interest to locals. They are a minority.
Trying to find people to follow for this purpose is not that easy. I hope that anyone reading this who has a local-specific twitter feed will send me an @newtown_news message alerting me of my missed opportunity. Or if you know of someone I have missed, please do the same.
